31 Day (Week) Challenge!

Hi everyone! I've been wanting to do a 31 Day Challenge for a long time now and I think that if I don't start it now, I'll never get around to it! My friend from My Life In Turquoise and I decided on creating a little twist to this challenge.

I am definitely too lazy to change my manicure everyday (I would probably fail the challenge within 2 days) and so is my friend. We decided on making it a 31 Week Challenge (it's still a challenge) so that we can take it a bit easy and still enjoy our lovely manicures for a week :) We're excited to show you all what we come up with!
We will be posting updates everyday Monday, with the first post being this Monday, February 4, 2013!!

There will also be some updates on my Facebook page!! Please feel free to like it :)

Snow Dots

Hello Hello! This is the final post for today! Last week, I decided to do something more winter-like with my nails. At first I thought of snow, but since it hadn't snowed much yet, the theme didn't seem to work. I opted for winter colors and dots so that it kind of looked "snowy" in a way. The polishes I used were Revlon Downtown and Revlon Silver Screen. And to make the nails pop a little more, because the colors didn't contrast too much, I decided to highlight my middle and index fingers.

Also, Revlon Silver Screen is a bit liquidy so making the dots with the dotting tool was a bit hard. Some of them ended up blending together, or at least ended up touching one another and I was too lazy to go back and fix it.

Hopefully you like it! See you all soon!

Tribalesque Doodling

Hello again!

I went to India last December and was going to bring some of my polishes with me so that I could do some stuff in India. However, after I got there and was itching to do some stuff with my nails, I realized that I only brought nail art pens with me and completely forgot the bad of polishes on my dresser. What a bummer! So I decided to just doodle on my nails with the nail art pens...straight onto my nails. Well not straight onto my nails. I did remember to bring my base and top coats.

I applied my base coat first and then started doodling with the black nail art pen that I had.
At first I didn't like it at all and was frantically looking for a nail polish remover. But as time went on, and I didn't find a decent remover, I started liking it. The doodles are definitely something different and stand out!

Until next time!

Doodles and Flowers

Hey everyone! So last December my family has 2 weddings to attend. Before the first one, I obviously did my nails to get ready for the upcoming festivities! After seeing my nails, a few of our friends asked to get their nails done by me (yay!) and of course, I was thrilled and more than happy to do their nails! Indian weddings are all about color so the girls brought over their outfits and we decided to match the colors and patterns that were on their dresses.

Here's what the end product looked like:
The left one: Her dress was green and pink and had a lot of intricate swirls that almost looked vine-like. Then there were pink embellishments and embroidery work that went along with the green swirl pattern. The detail in the dress made me go for a simple look so that everything did not look too busy. I opted for pink french tips and a cute simple green design.

The right one: This dress was blue and purple with lots of shine and sparkles. Again, the pattern and overall look of this dress was very detailed so to not make everything look too busy, I went for something simple. To match the background color of her dress, I gave her blue french tips. The dress had purple and some flower patterns so to go along with that, I highlighted her ring finger and put a purple with some dots on it.

I hope you like it! These were simple but fun to do because they were happy with the end result :)

Lines

Hey everyone! It's been a while but I'll be putting up everything I have done the last couple of months. First up is a design I made using nail art brushes. It's just something simple that can be worn to a party or a wedding!

I did this in steps so that I didn't have to open and close each polish a million times. First I made the lines using the white nail art polish, then the gold nail art polish, and lastly the silver nail art polish.

I hope you all like it!

Fishtail

Hey everyone! I thought of trying out the fishtail braid design that I've been seeing a lot. It's quite simple to do, you just have to be a patient to let each layer dry a bit before applying the next one so that the polish doesn't smear.

Here's what my attempt looked like:

What do you think??
